Health & Safety

safety first, safety always

At Ganymede, the health and safety of our operatives is integral to all we do.

Ganymede has developed a culture and ethos of continuous improvement, which placed safety at the heart of our business and is instilled into our operatives at every level. Our safety culture helps drive awareness amongst all staff regarding working practices that eliminate complacency.

Before any operative begins work, they must undertake Ganymede’s full induction program, with sessions that include in-depth safety briefings, advising them through the policies and procedures for that particular client. These programs also include but are not limited to briefings on Ganymede’s environmental policy, first aid policy, working hours policy, work safe procedure, alcohol and drugs policy, medical fitness, accident/incident/near-miss policy, PPE care and use instructions.

Once deployed to site, regular briefings are given to all workers to update them on the latest safety issues. In addition, Ganymede conduct toolbox talks on site to refresh and update operatives’ knowledge of safe working practices. Text messages are also sent with updated information and alerts. We also have the facility for operatives to call, text or email for close call reporting.

Ganymede take ultimate responsibility to communicate Network Rail’s Lifesaving rules and in ensuring that all staff are fully briefed before going out on a project. Site inspections are carried out regularly to ensure that operatives are continually working safely and to conduct spot checks to confirm that all are wearing the correct PPE.

If you have any concerns regarding health and safety, call our confidential reporting line on 01332 861 840 or email
