Ganymede sign up to Rail Safe Friendly programme at partner level
Our ethos of ‘Safety First, Safety Always’ is a core element of all that we do. However, this does not only include those working for us. It extends to all those who utilise the railway in any way, from those who travel by train to children who simply must use a level-crossing to get to school.
As such, we have partnered with Rail Safe Friendly to help spread this essential message of safety to as many members of the public as possible, particularly those who are unaware of the dangers that come with being near the track.
Rail Safe Friendly provides schools and the rail industry with an opportunity to work together towards a common goal to improve rail safety in all schools across the UK.
Through this partnership, we are sponsoring 10 schools local to our regional offices to ensure they receive Network Rail approved safety training and videos at no cost to the schools.
Stuart Heaton, Managing Director of Rail Safe Friendly, said: “We are delighted to welcome Ganymede to the Rail Safe Friendly programme. It is through the rail industry working together to promote this vital education programme that we are able to deliver rail safety messages to young people across the country. Ganymede’s support means that we will be able to reach even more children with this critical rail safety awareness in order to prevent injuries and save lives.”
Gary Lobue, Head of HSEQ at Ganymede Solutions said: "Education plays a vital role in rail safety. It is our aim to help young people and children engage in safe behaviour around our railways and what an incentive to partner Rail Safe Friendly and join their journey to promote safety in schools throughout Britain."
