Ganymede Solutions are partnering with a well-recognised UK train operating company to hire a number of Interior Operatives into their engineering team, based in the South East London/Kent region. Our client is looking to hire a “go getter” Interior Operatives who wants to challenge themselves by developing their skills & expertise further in the rolling stock/railway sector.

 

The Role:

The Interior Operative role itself is to carry out maintenance, fittings and basic installations across the interior of the train. Typical duties include:

  • Fitting doors/tiles/windows/tables/seats
  • Changing/replacing light bulbs/taps/door handles/toilet seats/tables, etc
  • Cleaning off graffiti
  • Basic repairs
  • Changing seat coverings
  • General handyman work across the units

Hours wise, the role works on a day & night shift pattern working 10 hour shifts. When you are on days you will work Mon-Fri and on nights you will do Sun-Thurs.

 

The Company:

The company serves the London, Kent, and East Sussex areas, running 165 stations and completing over 1,700 journeys each day.

As a result of this, they have a large fleet of trains – 399 to be precise so it is safe to say you will always be busy and have a new challenge to overcome.

 

Remuneration & Benefits:

This rail company has on offer the following for contract staff:

  • £19.50p/h
  • 3 month rolling contract with a view to be extended indefinitely depending on the team’s performance

 

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in Facilities Management, Construction or Rolling Stock
  • Knowledge of rolling stock Maintenance is a bonus
  • Be able to pass a Drugs & Alcohol test.
  • Be able to pass a full rail medical – this will include, sight, hearing, colourisation, heart, lungs, brain, etc…
  • Be able to pass PTS.
  • Provide your Right to Work documents before deployment.
  • Happy to help mentality/attitude.
