FCO LLS CONTRACT IN BAGHDAD IRAQ

The Ambassadors Chef/Residence Manager must be a UK National with a minimum of SC clearance. The role will report directly to the Contract Manager for the performance of services to the British Ambassador located at the British Embassy, Baghdad, Iraq.

Location

Based at the British Embassy in Baghdad, Iraq, shadowing the Ambassador’s tours in country ensuring no gaps in service. The official routine for the HMA is based on a 6/2 leave rotation but must be flexible.

Responsibilities

The Ambassador’s Chef/Residence Manager will be responsible for the overall management of the Ambassador’s residence, including:

  • Daily Management of the residence, Catering, Cleaning and Laundry
  • Contract compliance, including KPI performance
  • Provide front of house services as required
  • Liaise with all FCO support personnel
  • Organise functions and special meals as requested by the Ambassador
  •  Responsible for the stock control of the HMA official drinks

General Management Experience

The Ambassadors Chef/Residence Manager will have extensive experience as a professional chef at all levels. Would be from a catering career background having proven experience of working in high class establishments. A journeyman head chef with excellent front of house skills.  Specific experience will include:

  • Planning menu’s and special diets as requested.
  • A Sound understanding and experience in “Silver Service” and all other butler services. Some training can be given on site.

 ·        Provide advice and guidance on function planning ensuring the highest standards of foods and beverages are prepared and served to the Ambassador and his VIP guests.

  • Ensure upkeep of the residence informing the Corporate Services and the Technical Works Services team of any necessary maintenance works.
  • Working within an ISO 9000 compliant environment.

                  ·       Experience in successfully managing a multi-cultural and diverse workforce.

  • Sound knowledge of health, safety and environmental management.
  • Experience in assessing risk and producing assessments and method statements.
  • Experience in working within strict ISO 22,000 guidelines. 
  • Make arrangements for the cleaning and upkeep of soft furnishings, carpets and curtains as necessary.
