Job Title: Senior Quantity Surveyor / Project QS

Location: Dewsbury (4 days on-site, 1 day remote)
Contract Type: 5+ years project duration
Rate: £550-£600 per day (Inside IR35)

Project Overview:
A major infrastructure project, the Transpennine Route Upgrade (TRU), is looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor/Project QS to join their team. This large-scale project will span over the next 5+ years, focusing on enhancing transport links across the Pennines.

Role Overview:
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor / Project QS, you will play a key role in managing the installation and construction of major structures, including bridges, within this high-profile project. You will be responsible for overseeing subcontractor procurement, onboarding, and management while ensuring effective financial control and contract management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Subcontractor Procurement: Identify, negotiate, and procure subcontractors for various project works.
  • Subcontractor Management: Manage the performance and contractual obligations of subcontractors throughout the construction phase.
  • Cost and Value Reporting (CVR): Conduct regular CVR reporting, ensuring accurate tracking of project costs and value.
  • Change Management: Implement and manage change control processes, ensuring all variations are accounted for and communicated effectively.
  • Team Support: Provide guidance and support to junior members of the commercial team.
  • Project Delivery: Ensure the successful financial delivery of large-scale structures (bridges) in line with project milestones.

Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience in quantity surveying on large infrastructure or civil engineering projects.
  • Strong knowledge of subcontractor procurement and management.
  • Familiarity with cost and value reporting (CVR) and change management.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to support and mentor junior team members.
  • Experience in large structures (e.g., bridges) is desirable.
