Job Title: Stores person - Fork lift licence required

Location: Allerton Depot, Liverpool

Contract Length: 6-12 Months Initial Contract with Potential for Permanent Position

Join the distribution centre team at Allerton Depot (Liverpool) and play a pivotal role in ensuring that all necessary parts and materials are available for maintenance and operations, while maintaining high standards of safety and organization. About the Role: As a Stores Operative, you'll have a wide range of responsibilities that are crucial for the smooth operation of the depot and the maintenance of the trains. Your tasks will include:

  • Tracking and managing inventory levels of parts, tools, and supplies.
  • Conducting regular stock checks and audits.
  • Maintaining accurate records of inventory levels, orders, and deliveries.
  • Receiving deliveries of parts and materials.
  • Inspecting deliveries for accuracy and quality.
  • Storing parts and materials in designated locations.
  • Maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient storage area.
  • Processing and preparing orders for parts and supplies as requested by maintenance and operational teams.
  • Ensuring timely delivery of parts and supplies to the appropriate departments or locations.
  • Communicating effectively with maintenance and operational teams to understand their needs and requirements.

The Successful Candidate: We're seeking individuals with strong work ethics, exceptional communication skills, and the flexibility to adapt. Ideal candidates will have experience with SAP (internal computer systems), forklift truck operation, and inventory management (goods in and goods out). Training will be provided on coding parts, parts location, and using the internal computer system for goods in and goods out.

Requirements: You should be punctual, reliable, and quick to learn and adapt in a fast-paced working environment.

Our Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday: 07:00am - 15:00pm

Overtime opportunities may be available on weekends at the discretion of management.

  • Weekends day shift: 06:00am – 18:00pm
  • Weekends night shift: 18:00pm – 06:00am

Rate of Pay:

  • £12 p/h, weeks 1-12
  • £12.65 p/h, week 13 onwards
