Joint employment initiative wins in Safer Communities Awards 2023
As part of our Being Socially Responsible core value, Ganymede have a commitment to ‘Employment as a Social Issue’.
This means we collaboratively work with others in the industry to provide opportunities for those in hard-to-reach communities and utilise our local job knowledge to support people into work.
Award winning On-Track Programme
The On-Track Programme brings public and private entities intuitively together, taking unemployed through a cycle of mentoring, work experience, training before entering guaranteed Rail employment.
The list of partnered bodies in the On-Track Programme include Ganymede Solutions; Absolute Training & Assessing Ltd; Probation Service; Cardiff City Council; Network Rail; Dyfodol; South Wales Police; Department for Work and Pensions.
This work was recognised by The Safer Communities Awards for Wales, a national body which celebrates and showcases the work being undertaken across Wales to make communities better in multiple areas. On Thursday 30th November 2023 the inaugural Safer Communities Awards Ceremony was held at the Village Hotel, Swansea.
Our programme was shortlisted in the Partnership category, which we were adjudged the winner.

There is no doubt that all parties involved have been and will be a vital cog in the rehabilitation of these former offenders moreover, I am genuinely optimistic that our impact will help give the individuals included on the “On Track Programme” a true sense of purpose and a career in rail that has great development opportunities."
